Assault: The School Resource Officer at Redmond Junior High was contacted by a student who said she been inappropriately touched by another student. It was determined that the assault occurred at the school and the suspect was arrested, booked and later released to his parents.

Attempted break-in: A Redmond man in the 16600 block of Northeast 34th Court called police 50 minutes after an unknown suspect attempted to break into his apartment. The victim saw a white male smash the rear sliding glass door with a toolbox. The suspect fled when the victim yelled at him. Moments later, a maintenance employee saw a new, shiny, red Toyota truck extra-cab (unknown model) flee the area at a high rate of speed.

Fight: A suspect had a physical fight with an adult female housemate in the 15500 block of Northeast 53rd Place. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence assault.

Reckless burning: A Redmond Police officer saw a man pouring water into a dumpster in the 8500 block of 164th Avenue Northeast. An investigation revealed that the dumpster had been set on fire. A subject running from the scene was described, but not located. The Fire Department did not consider the fire suspicious.

Tuesday, March 3

Inside job: A business owner in the 4200 block of Bel-Red Road called police to report the theft of supplies by an employee. An investigation is ongoing.

Fraud: A resident of the 9100 block of Red-Wood Road reported that an unknown person made fraudulent charges on his debit card.

Caffeine fix: An unknown suspect attempted to steal a shopping cart full of bags of coffee from a store in the 15000 block of Northeast 24th Street. An employee stopped the suspect and was assisted by a citizen when the male would not cooperate, but the suspect fled on foot.

Runaway: A Redmond Elementary student ran away from the school during school hours. The student was located and returned to the school. This report was taken for documentation purposes.

Animal problem: Redmond Police responded to a dog bite call at a residence in the 16400 block of Northeast 122nd Street. Family friends were having dinner together when one of their dogs bit a small child.

Monday, March 2

Theft: A resident in the 17400 block of Northeast 98th Way said his computer was stolen from his home during a recent move.

Break-in: A victim in the 4800 block of 156th Avenue Northeast found the rear sliding glass door of their residence pried open and glass shattered. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the home and stole laptop computers, cash and other personal property.

Burglary: Suspect(s) used a pry tool to open window at a business in the 8100 block of 161st Avenue Northeast. Several cell phones were taken.

Over the limit: Redmond Police responded to a report of an intoxicated female who refused to leave a bar in the 7900 block of Leary Way. She was arrested for trespassing after refusing to comply with multiple orders to leave the premises.

Felon in custody: A Redmond resident was stopped for traffic violations in the 7000 block of Old Redmond Road and placed into custody for a felony warrant. A search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of a white powdery substance. Additional charges are pending.

Sunday, March 1

DUI: A Redmond man was arrested after he was stopped for several traffic violations on Northeast 85th Street. His blood-alcohol concentration was three times the legal limit.

Beauty interrupted: Redmond Police responded to a report of a theft from a customer in a hair salon in the 16400 block of Northeast 74th Street.

Two times the trouble: Two adult females fled from a store in the 2200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. They were contacted in their vehicle a short time later and arrested. They were also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Saturday, Feb. 28

Shoplifters: Officers arrested shoplifting suspects in separate incidents at businesses in the 2200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast and in the 17100 block of Redmond Way.

Damage: Redmond Police investigated vandalism to the grass at a park at Northeast 92nd Street and 182nd Avenue Northeast.

Trickery: Redmond Police investigated a report of a theft involving a quick cash exchange, in the 17700 block of Northeast 76th Street.

Party supplies: An unknown suspect took a case of beer and ran out the front doors of a supermarket in the 15800 block of Redmond Way. No suspect information is available.

Friday, Feb. 27

Vandalism: Graffiti tags were found in an elevator at a mall in the 16300 block of Northeast 74th Street.

Burglary: Redmond Police investigated a burglary at home under construction, in the 16800 block of Northeast 117th Street. Several appliances were taken.

Malicious mischief: Officers responded to a report from an apartment complex in the 3900 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway, where someone had damaged the frame surrounding a doorway.

Assault: Police responded to a theft and assault at a residence in the 2600 block of 183rd Avenue Northeast. One male was arrested.

Thursday, Feb. 26

Smash and grab: Unknown suspects smashed the window of a vehicle in the 7200 block of 164th Avenue Northeast and removed a purse that was left on the front seat.

K-9: A Mill Creek man was arrested after a K-9 police dog searched his vehicle and located drug paraphernalia, in the 17200 block of Redmond Way.

Suspicious circumstances: A Redmond resident in the 16000 block of Northeast 105th Street called 911 to report someone banging on the front door of the house and attempting to open a back door. No suspect information was available.
