Providence will open Redmond ElderPlace in June

Providence ElderPlace is expanding a program that provides inclusive care for elderly patients to Redmond.

The expansion will bring more residents on the Eastside programs that provide medical care and social services to seniors who want to stay in the community and minimize hospital and nursing home stays, a release from Providence said. The new program will begin June 7.

ElderPlace in Redmond is located at 8632 160th Ave. N.E., adjacent to the Providence John Gabriel House, which is a new 75-unit low-income housing facility that opened last month.

The release said Providence is opening the new center in response to a growing need by seniors wanting to see their health care providers in a single place, including doctors, nurses, dentists, therapists and more services.

To participate in the program, seniors must be 55 or over and in need of assistance as determined by the state Department of Social and Health Services.
