Redmond City Council appoints new planning commissioner

Redmond City Council has appointed Roy Captain to the Redmond Planning Commission. Captain comes to the Planning Commission with many years of volunteer experience in the education, nonprofit and business realms, most recently as the president of the Audubon Elementary PTSA.

Redmond City Council has appointed Roy Captain to the Redmond Planning Commission. Captain comes to the Planning Commission with many years of volunteer experience in the education, nonprofit and business realms, most recently as the president of the Audubon Elementary PTSA. In addition, he brings a wealth of business management and operations experience, as well as a love of the Redmond community.

“I am pleased to have Roy join the Redmond Planning Commission. He brings a diverse set of experiences and talents to the commission and I thank him for his service to the community,” said Mayor John Marchione.

Captain succeeds Commissioner Vibhas Chandorkar and his term begins in April.

The Planning Commission monitors growth and development issues in Redmond and evaluates and recommends revisions to land use policies and regulations. It meets at 7 p.m. the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of each month in the City Council Chambers.
