Sponsored by the David Douglas Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Redmond, a flag ceremony was held at Redmond City Hall with the 50th anniversary commemoration flag and proclamation displayed. It was also displayed in the Council Chambers for their session that evening, as well as at Trilogy in Redmond.

The DAR, along with 9,000 organizations across the country, has joined with the Department of Defense as a commemorative partner (http://www.vietnamwar50th.com) to honor the nation’s Vietnam veterans.

“March 29, 2016, has been designated as a day to express our tremendous gratitude and support to this generation of Americans through ceremonies across the Nation. March 29 is the last day in which U.S. troops were on the ground in Vietnam,” reads a DAR press release.
