Mayukha Vadari, a junior at Redmond High School, has been admitted to the 2015 Simons Summer Research Program sponsored by Stony Brook University in New York.

Simons fellows are matched with Stony Brook faculty mentors, join a research group or team and assume responsibility for a project. Fellows conclude their apprenticeship by producing a written research abstract and a research poster. They also attend weekly faculty research talks and participate in special workshops, tours and events. At the closing poster symposium, students are presented with a $1,000 stipend award for their work.

Vadari was selected for this opportunity based upon her application, academic record and teacher recommendations. The Simons Summer Research Fellowship Program runs from June 29 through Aug. 11. During this time, Vadari will be working with Dr. Robert Harrison in the Institute for Advanced Computational Science.
