The Rotary Club of Redmond recently presented Redmond High School (RHS) senior Rachel Kim and junior Aron Daw with its Student of the Month awards for December.
Rotary President Steve Bozick made the presentation at the club’s meeting on Dec. 15, at the Redmond Marriott.
Kim is the principal cellist of the Mustang Symphony and a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has also been selected as outstanding musician of the year and as outstanding student of the year at RHS. Kim has volunteered with the University of Washington Medical Center, among other volunteer activities and plans to attend college and medical school with the hopes of a career in pediatric medicine.
Daw is active in tennis, drama and music and is a member of the National Honor Society. He has engaged in many service activities through his church and his involvement in Boys Scouts. He will major in physics or applied mathematics with computer applications in college and plans to go on to graduate studies. He enjoys teaching and wants to have a career in college teaching.
