Redmond Historical Society meeting to feature Megan Carlisle of Eastside Heritage Center, slated for May 14

Eastside Heritage Center archivist Megan Carlisle will be speaking at the Redmond Historical Society meeting on May 14.

Eastside Heritage Center archivist Megan Carlisle will be speaking at the Redmond Historical Society meeting on May 14.

The meeting will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center at 16600 N.E. 80 St.

Carlisle will be speaking about what happened when the Lake Washington Ship Canal was completed and the water level dropped by nine feet.

Attendees will learn about how the changing shoreline has affected businesses and residents from Renton to Woodinville to Lake Sammamish.

The Historical Society is also selling raffle tickets for its quilt in honor of Redmond’s centennial in 2012. Tickets are $2 each.
