Redmond-Kirkland Relay for Life slated for June 19-20

The Redmond-Kirkland Relay for Life will take place from noon Saturday, June 19 through 8 a.m. Sunday, June 20 on the athletic field at Redmond High School, 17272 NE 104th St.

The Redmond-Kirkland Relay for Life will take place from noon Saturday, June 19 through 8 a.m. Sunday, June 20 on the athletic field at Redmond High School, 17272 NE 104th St.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is an overnight community celebration, where teams and individuals will camp out, barbecue, dance, and take turns walking around a track “relay-style” to raise funds to fight cancer.

Music and entertainment, food and family activities are part of the event.

Community members can visit at any time during the day on Saturday. Those wishing to spend the night should register online and join a team which will walk around the track in the relay.

Luminaria bags can be decorated in honor of loved ones and lit during the Ceremony of Remembrance for those who lost their lives to cancer, beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday.

Cancer survivors will be honored at a special breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19.
