Redmond Lights kicks off Friday

The lighting event is also extended to Jan. 3

Starting Friday, Dec. 4, Redmond is offering a month of holiday cheer with an art and light installation at Downtown Park, Redmond Lights.

Visitors can follow the lights down Cleveland and 164th by foot or car to the Redmond Town Center, where festivities will include socially-distanced Santa, a business window decorating contest and blinker stops. Families can schedule a time for a photo with Santa Claus here.

The extended event allows for additional safety precautions and allows for attendee distancing, according to the city of Redmond’s webpage. The city says all the events will highlight hope joy and safety in a new way amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Redmond will also be hosting a decorating competition, residents can submit photos of their holiday lights by Dec. 18 to be entered to win online and share pictures with the hashtag #LetitGlowRedmond. Voting will take place the last two weeks of December.

Redmond Lights will run until Jan. 3. more information is available here.
