On Tuesday, Redmond Mayor John Marchione visited the Louisa May Alcott Elementary Student Leadership class to discuss how city governments work and what it’s like to be mayor, among other topics. The leadership class is an extracurricular program with 24 fourth- through sixth-graders. The program’s theme for this year is “We Care.” The program’s goals are to support the school, local and international communities, promote school spirit and camaraderie and finally, learn how to become positive, more influential leaders by meeting with and learning from local community leaders.
