A Redmond police officer located a robbery suspect and detained him downtown on Thursday morning.

A Redmond police officer located a robbery suspect and detained him downtown on Thursday morning.

According to Redmond Police Department (RPD) Cmdr. Charlie Gorman, the suspect robbed a 7-Eleven store employee at knifepoint in the Overlake area of Bellevue (near the Redmond border) on Wednesday afternoon and fled the scene.

RPD officers set up a perimeter and helped Bellevue police attempt to locate the suspect.

On Thursday, Gorman said the RPD officer noticed a man matching the suspect’s description and took him into custody.
