The Redmond Police Department will participate in the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run on Friday, May 30, beginning at 9 a.m.
Mayor John Marchione will present the torch to the first runner on the steps of City Hall to commence the Redmond leg of the run.
Police agencies across the state run the torch from Spokane to the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Summer Games, held at Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base.
Redmond Police Officers have raised over $20,000 this year to support Washington State Special Olympics.
Here’s the Torch Run Route:
• From Redmond City Hall east on NE 85th Street to 160th Avenue NE
• Eastbound on Cleveland Street to Redmond Way
• Eastbound to Eastlake Sammamish Parkway
• At the 5100 block of East Lake Sammamish the torch will be handed off to the next participating police agency
