Rotary Club of Redmond has launched a new event to raise funds to benefit the community. Solstice Festivus is a fun-filled night of wine, music and merriment in which funds will be raised for scholarships for outstanding students from Redmond High School and Lake Washington Institute of Technology.

The event will take place from 5-9 p.m. June 25 at Hyatt House Seattle/Redmond, 15785 Bear Creek Parkway in Redmond. Tickets are $90 per person and may be purchased online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/redmond-rotary-solstice-festivus-tickets-24534134256.

Solstice Festivus will feature conversation and presentations by local vintners. These include Warr-King Wines, a new boutique winery from Lisa Warr-King Packer, graduate of LWTech’s School of Wine Technology; and Savage Grace Wines, Seattle Post Intelligencer’s No. 1 Winery of the Year in 2015. Winemaker Michael Savage will present his latest releases. All wines poured will be available for sale the night of the event with earnings helping to support the Redmond Rotary Foundation’s Scholarship programs.

World of Wines-Redmond will host a Mystery Wine Wall and brown-bagged wine surprises await those making a $35 purchase. Each wine will be chosen by the retailing team of Karen Graf and Joel Butler. Retail values of each bottle will vary — some will be upwards of $65 for the lucky buyer. Proceeds go toward the Redmond Rotary Foundation’s Scholarship programs.

The Hyatt House’s chefs will present a bevy of offerings from appetizers to main dishes to special desserts. Music will be provided by Hugh Judd and a special guest.
