Redmond Saturday Market opens May 7

The Redmond Saturday Market will open its 41st season at 9 a.m. May 7 at 7730 Leary Way.

The Redmond Saturday Market will open its 41st season at 9 a.m. May 7 at 7730 Leary Way.

Redmond City Council President Hank Margeson will cut the opening ribbon with the soundtrack provided by the Redmond High School Pep Band.

From noon to 2 p.m., the Market Street Dixieland Jazz Band will perform at the gazebo. From 12:30-2 p.m., kids can make Mother’s Day presents at the craft area. Baby goats and members of the Redmond Historical Society and King County Master Gardeners will be on site all day.

It is billed as the Eastside’s oldest farmers market and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday May through October.

There are more than 70 vendors weekly, featuring: organic choices in produce, fruits, berries, cheese, eggs and meats; selections of plants, herbs, flowers, breads, jams, honey, fish, specialty sauces and nuts; crepes, sliders, tamales, pizza, sausage heros, pulled pork, shave ice, popcorn and pastries for lunch; live bands; one-of-a-kind gifts made by local artisans; zucchini races, hula dancers, pirates, free make n’ take crafts for kids, veterans celebration, kids day and pet parades.
