Redmond Town Center’s 3rd Annual Arts Festival slated for June 22-24, accepting artist applications

Artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories are invited to submit an application for participation in Redmond Town Center's 3rd Annual Arts Festival.

Artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories are invited to submit an application for participation in Redmond Town Center’s 3rd Annual Arts Festival.

The application deadline is April 1 and the three-day event will be June 22-24 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

In honor of the City of Redmond’s 100th birthday this year, artists submitting work for the festival are encouraged to also enter original artwork that commemorates Redmond’s Centennial and the artist’s connection to Redmond as a Washington local, Redmond resident or entrant. Anyone with a connection to Redmond in some way is encouraged to create artwork and submit it for this portion of the festival.

The top 25 submissions — as selected by the jury — will be featured in a special VALA Eastside Centennial Collection Gallery, hosted by the town center throughout the arts festival. The top three submissions — also selected by the jury — in both the festival and Centennial Collection categories will receive Best of Show prizes and be prominently displayed in the gallery throughout the event.

This year’s jury will include Redmond Arts Commission coordinator Joshua Heim, former Pilchuk Glass School director and Purdue University professor Marge Levy, Microsoft Corp. painter and graphic designer Donna Wallace and Redmond Digital Arts Festival curator and founder Kamal Seigel.

The festival will feature about 100 artist booths, on-stage art demonstrations, workshops, musical entertainment, food vendors and a retailer sidewalk sale.
