Friends of Youth (FOY) has announced three new board members will be joining its team.

Kristin Reed, the managing director for compliance and human resources at the Bellevue-based Cornerstone Advisors, comes from a background in human resources and compliance to the board’s work. A FOY press release states that she is looking forward to contributing her skills and experience to “increase the impact of the organization and help advance its mission.”

Dr. Ray Baker is the newly named vice president-executive medical director at EvergreenHealth Medical Group, where he provides medical leadership for the employed medical group. The FOY release states that he is eager to lend his expertise to a human service organization that is dedicated to youth, a shift from his long-standing participation and leadership on numerous medical boards.

Phil Crocker, owner at The Crocker Group, is rejoining the agency’s board after a two-year hiatus. He has previously served as chairman of the FOY Foundation board. According to the release, Crocker brings a depth of knowledge and experience to the board as well as a commitment to the importance of education in every young person’s life.

“We are thrilled to have such distinguished and knowledgeable community members join our board,” said Terry Pottmeyer, president and CEO of FOY. “Their experience will be a valuable asset to our organization as we embark on our new strategic plan to invest in youth, prioritize behavioral health for all clients and increase training and support for our staff.”

At the June board meeting current board chair Terry Hall was honored for his nine years of service on the board. He will continue to participate on both the Executive Committee as past chair and as the current chair of the FOY Foundation.

Also retiring this year are Paula Grassell, who spent six years on the board, as well as Mark Rockwell and Jon Morrone.

In 2017 the FOY board will be led by new officers board chair Bill Savoy, vice chair Janet Turpen, treasurer Andrew Bartram and secretary Crocker.

FOY is a nonprofit agency that provides foster care, homeless youth services, housing, employment, counseling and prevention services for young people and their families in King and Snohomish counties.
