Hopelink is seeking volunteers for its five centers in east and north King County.

Volunteer opportunities include sorting food in Hopelink’s food banks; helping adults learn to read, do basic math, study for the GED exams or learn English as a second language; delivering food to homebound clients; or answering phones and helping with administrative tasks.

New volunteers over age 16 and volunteers between the ages of 12 and 16 with parent/guardian supervision should register to attend a mandatory orientation. You will receive a registration confirmation e-mail or phone call.

Upcoming orientations are as follows:

• Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Hopelink’s Bellevue center in the Learning Center conference room, 14812 Main St. An afternoon session starts promptly at 1 p.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. An evening session starts promptly at 7 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. Parking on-site is limited. • Thursday, Aug. 6 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Hopelink’s Shoreline center, 15809 Westminster Way N.

• Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Hopelink’s Redmond center. The orientation will be held in the Rainier Room conference room of the Family Resource Center complex (where Hopelink is located), Building A, 16225 NE 87th St.

• Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 2-3:30 p.m. at Hopelink’s Carnation center, 31957 Commercial Street.
