Chelsey Hall and her kindergarten class at Norman Rockwell Elementary School in Redmond will soon be treated to a pizza party as winner the National Pizza Party Day Contest at Garlic Jim’s in Redmond.

Through the contest, which was held at Garlic Jim’s locations nationwide, community members nominated local teachers they wanted to recognize by writing an essay describing why their chosen teacher deserves a pizza party. Representatives from Garlic Jim’s corporate marketing department selected the top three essays and the community voted for their favorite teacher from the three finalists.

“We can’t think of a better way to say, ‘thank you’ to our local school teachers and families,” said Garlic Jim’s President and Chief Executive Officer Dwayne Northrop in a press release. “Garlic Jim’s sponsors National Pizza Party Day every year and we are always blown away by how passionate our customers are about their schoolteachers. We’re proud to honor teachers for their accomplishments and hard work.”

The date of Hall’s classroom pizza party is still to be determined.
