Sammamish Montessori School students shine in national writing contest

Four Sammamish Montessori School (SMS) elementary students in Redmond have been honored for their writing in the national Young Inkling's Book Contest.

Four Sammamish Montessori School (SMS) elementary students in Redmond have been honored for their writing in the national Young Inkling’s Book Contest.

Two SMS students were among the seven grade 1-3 story winners:

Dillon Mareth (grade 3) won for “Mike’s Beaver Tail.”

Samantha Vargas (grade 3) won for “Dusty.”

Two more SMS students were grade 1-4 finalists:

Cassidy Mareth (grade 1) for “Bunnies.”

Molly Keller (grade 3) for “The Yellow Star.”

More than 200 young writers from seven different states and 35 different cities submitted applications to this contest. Six SMS elementary students submitted entries.
