There were no injuries and no traffic tickets issued after a semi-truck pulling a cargo container flipped over on its side trying to make a left turn from Redmond Way onto 148th Avenue Northeast late Thursday morning.

“The driver claimed someone ran the red light coming in the opposite direction, causing her to hit her breaks as she was turning,” according to Redmond Police Department (RPD) spokesman Jim Bove.

As a result, the truck, which was carrying a large amount of crabs, flipped over on its side and was there for more than three hours as Redmond police investigators closed the northbound lane of 148th Avenue Northeast and the eastbound lane of Redmond Way onto 148th to try to determine the cause of the accident.

There were no signs of speeding, alcohol or drugs, Bove said. In addition, Bove said the road was not icy and there is no description of the car, which allegedly caused the accident, according to the truck driver.
“We are checking the red light camera to see if it has any information we can use,” Bove said.
