As our baby boomers generation transitions from being the adult children to caregivers of their parents and spouses, it is important to find the resources available to assist you, whether is partnering with the doctors, finding when to help your parent and even how to have those difficult conversations about accepting care or moving. While it is estimated that two thirds of the baby boomer generation is retired, rarely you will find one that is not now taking care of a loved one.

During the month of April, Aegis Living is hosting a series of free educational seminars for families and caregivers of elder adults. The events will take place at Aegis of Redmond (April 26, which focuses on finding the signs your parent needs help), Aegis Lodge in Kirkland (April 27, featuring an expert panel to find out how much care is too much, advocating for your parent with their doctors, finding key differences between normal aging versus dementia and how to find the right level of care between home care, adult family homes, assisted-living communities and nursing homes) and Aegis at Marymoor (April 28 about having those difficult conversations like stop driving, moving and accepting care).

Attendees to these events, will learn from the experts with speakers like chief medical officer of Aegis Living and geriatric physician, Dr. Shirley Newell, author and registered nurse Kathy Stewart and seasoned senior housing adviser Linda Fuhrman from Choice Advisory. At the events, attendees will also receive a resource binder, free to all those who pre-register in addition to complimentary books to the first 10 to register.
