Sewer utility survey crews will be working along the Sammamish River Trail near King County’s Marymoor Park today through May 9.

King County is conducting the work as part of the Lake Hills/Lake Sammamish Sewer Upgrade Project, which will entail replacing aging pipelines and adding new capacity to support population growth in the Redmond area.

The work is not expected to impact pedestrians and cyclists, but trail users should be cautious when traveling through the area and watch for surveyors, traffic cones, signs and other safety equipment.

King County will notify the community with details about additional project work scheduled for later this spring, including geotechnical borings that are needed to assess soil and groundwater conditions along the planned pipeline alignment.

The Lake Hills/Lake Sammamish Sewer Upgrade Project will entail replacing 21,000 feet of pipeline installed 45-60 years ago, to protect public health and water quality by ensuring reliable service.

Construction is expected to begin in 2018. King County’s project team will be working closely with people who live, work and play in the area throughout the project.
