Shell Station clerk attacked during cigarette robbery

Redmond Police are looking for three male suspects who stole cigarettes from a Redmond Shell Gasoline Station early Thursday morning after hitting the male clerk in the head with an “undetermined weapon,” according to a police press release.

The clerk was transported to Harborview Medical Center Emergency Room with a head wound, police said.

The incident occurred in the 11600 block of Avondale Road at approximately 3:30 a.m.

The first responding patrol unit found the male clerk injured and the clerk was quickly transported to the hospital. Redmond detectives arrived and processed the scene. Detective concluded that three males entered the store while the clerk was alone. One of the suspects attacked the clerk in the head with a weapon of some sort. The suspects then stole only cigarettes and ran away, according to the press release.

Fatal motorcycle accident on Leary

Speed appears to be the main factor in a fatal motorcycle accident near the 15900 block of Leary Way early Sunday morning, according to Redmond Police.

At 12:15 a.m., police responded to a traffic collision and determined that a single motorcycle had been traveling southbound on Leary Way near 159th Place Northeast, when the motorcycle struck a curb, according to a police press release. The impact threw the driver from the motorcycle. The driver, a 31-year-old Redmond man, died at the scene.

The man’s name will be released by the King County Medical Examiner’s Officer after his next of kin is notified.
