Stella Schola students spread holiday cheer

Last Saturday, 20 students and alumni students from Redmond's Stella Schola Middle School became elves as they helped out at the Forgotten Children’s Fund Christmas (FCF) as part of their semester project. Dressed up in Santa hats and reindeer antlers, Stella Schola students acted as Santa’s elves by heading to the North Pole — a donated warehouse/office near Boeing Field in Seattle — to wrap new toys and clothing for needy families in the greater Seattle area.

Last Saturday, 20 students and alumni students from Redmond’s Stella Schola Middle School became elves as they helped out for the Forgotten Children’s Fund (FCF) as part of their semester project.

Dressed up in Santa hats and reindeer antlers, Stella Schola students acted as Santa’s elves by heading to the North Pole — a donated warehouse/office near Boeing Field in Seattle — to wrap new toys and clothing for needy families in the greater Seattle area.

“Helping out gives us the chance to make a wonderful holiday for people who might not get anything,” said 10th grader Eve Garrigan.

FCF was created in 1976 after a boy named Craig wrote a letter to Santa Claus asking for a gift – not for himself — but for his sister who did not get anything for Christmas the previous year. The letter ended up touching the hearts of many people, and the Forgotten Children’s Fund Christmas was born. This organization is a volunteer only, non-profit organization, which provides toys and clothes to more than 80,000 youngsters and their families.
