Suspect attempts to conceal and steal $228 worth of alcohol | Police blotter for March 28 – April 2

Monday, April 2

Burglary: Apartment staff located a broken window to a unit whose occupant is out of town and discovered it had been burglarized. Officers collected fingerprint evidence at the scene. Under investigation.

Sunday, April 1

Theft: Retail employees called police after observing an individual select merchandise and leave the store without attempting to pay for it. Officers located the suspect a short distance away and discovered items stolen from a second store as well. The suspect was arrested for theft.

Saturday, March 30

Shoplift: Grocery store employees observed an adult female select $228 worth of alcohol and conceal the bottles in her purse. Officers located the suspect in the parking lot. It was determined that the suspect left the alcohol in another part of the store before leaving. The suspect was arrested on outstanding misdemeanor warrants unrelated to this incident.

Assault: A citizen called police to report an assault that had previously occurred. The victim stated her co-worker became angry and threw an office product at her which made contact with her face. The victim was not injured. Misdemeanor charges of 4th degree Assault were forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Friday, March 29

Shoplift: Two adult males were observed by employees selecting approximately $170 worth of alcohol and leaving the store without attempting to pay for the items. Officers located them a short distance away. The suspects elected to run on foot from the officers. A short foot pursuit yielded two suspects under arrest for Misdemeanor Theft and Obstruction.

Burglary: An apartment resident returned home and discovered his home had been burglarized. The suspect(s) entered thorough a patio window. Fingerprint evidence was collected at the scene as is being processed for suspect information.

Thursday, March 28

Prowling: A resident called police after finding items had been stolen from his car overnight. Sunglasses, cash, and a gift card were taken. No suspect information exists.

Theft: A monitoring company detected an alarm and noted two individuals in the process of stealing bicycles from a storage locker. Officers located the duo a short time later. They were arrested for investigation of Burglary.
