Teen center to hold skate competition at Edge Skate Park

The Old Fire House Teen Center is hosting its Third Annual Skate Jam, a skate competition on Saturday at the Edge Skate Park.

The Old Fire House Teen Center is hosting its Third Annual Skate Jam, a skate competition on Saturday at the Edge Skate Park.

The park is located at the corner of Northeast 83rd Street and 161st Avenue Northeast in downtown Redmond. The competition starts at 1 p.m., with registration beginning at noon.

The skate competition categories will be: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Free Skate and Best Trick. Prize packs from sponsors will be given away to the winners of each category. Sponsors include Zumiez, Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, Blazing Bagels, KIND Bars and Sausage Skateboards. There will also be a food truck and local art at the event.

Teens will also get the opportunity to meet and connect with other teen skaters from the area as well as receive pointers from professional judges.

The entry fee is $5, which can be paid at registration or at tinyurl.com/zsp3eqb (search “skate jam”).
