Thirteen Redmond High students qualify for American Invitational Mathematics Examination

Thirteen Redmond High School math students have qualified to take the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) on Tuesday, March 16. The AIME is an intermediate examination between the American Math Competition 10 or 12 and the USA Math Olympiad. All students who took the AMC 12 and achieved a score of 88.5 or more or were in the top five percent are invited to take the AIME. All students who took the AMC 10 and had a score of 118.5, or were in the top one percent also qualify for the AIME. The AIME is intended to provide further challenge and recognition, beyond that provided by the AMC 10 or AMC 12, to the many high school students in North America who have exceptional mathematical ability. The students who qualified are Erin Antono, Tara Balakrishnan, Samvit Jain, Ben Keller, Sam Keller, Chris Lim, Thomas Moore, Arjun Narayanan, Evan Nelson, Kevin Parker, Alex Vaschillo, Sophia Xu and Adam Young.
