Nighttime drivers planning to use State Route 520 should be prepared to take alternate routes across and around Lake Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, March 8-9 as crews working for Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) test tolling equipment on the SR 520 bridge.

Crews will close all lanes of westbound SR 520 between 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill and Montlake Boulevard in Seattle on Tuesday, March 8 from 11:59 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Crews will close all lanes of eastbound SR 520 between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill on Wednesday, March 9 from 11:59 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

During these closures, crews will test and adjust equipment in preparation for tolling of the SR 520 bridge later this spring.

Drivers should also note that beginning at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, WSDOT crews will perform monthly maintenance openings of the floating bridge drawspan. Since all eastbound lanes will be closed for the tolling equipment project, drivers will encounter rolling slowdowns westbound only across the bridge. The rolling slowdowns and drawspan maintenance will be complete by 5 a.m.
