Upcoming Redmond Historical Society meeting to feature Lorraine McConaghy on Jan. 14

The next Redmond Historical Society (RHS) meeting will be Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center, 16600 NE 80 St. and feature Lorraine McConaghy, the public historian for the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle.

The next Redmond Historical Society (RHS) meeting will be Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center, 16600 NE 80 St. and feature Lorraine McConaghy, the public historian for the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle.

She will be discussing her new book, “New Land, North of the Columbia: Historic Documents that Tell the Story of Washington State from Territory to Today.”

McConaghy’s presentation is sponsored by Humanities Washington, which honors and shares stories, ideas and perspectives from across the state that connect Washingtonians from all backgrounds and communities, allowing us to understand our past and present as we work to shape our future.

RHS is still selling tickets for the quilt raffle in honor of Redmond’s Centennial celebration in 2012. Tickets are $2 each.
