Verizon Wireless has added a new cell site to the Union Hill and Novelty Hill area in Redmond.
Now wireless calling, text messaging and surfing the Web will be easier and faster for residents and visitors. The site expands 3G wireless coverage and capacity in this area of northeast King County.
Verizon’s ongoing network investment in Washington now totals more than $1.21 billion, including $114 million in 2010. Since the company was formed, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion — $5.7 billion on average every year — to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
Verizon recently launched its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless services in 38 markets and 60 commercial airports across the United States including Seattle. Additional Washington markets the company has committed to launch in include Tacoma, Olympia, Centralia, Portland-Vancouver and Spokane.
