Washington Cathedral in Redmond to hold free heart screenings on Oct. 15

On Oct. 15, the Washington Cathedral at 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. N.E. in Redmond will hold free cardiovascular screenings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Oct. 15, the Washington Cathedral at 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. N.E. in Redmond will hold free cardiovascular screenings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The screenings will be presented by the Health Resource Center (HRC) and conducted by Dr. Paul Huang, cardiologist and medical director of the Swedish Heart and Vascular Clinic and clinic medical staff.

The screenings will include checking vital signs, electrocardiography (ECG), echocardiogram, carotid ultrasound, scanning for abdominal aortic aneurysms for those older than 60 who are smokers and have diabetes, high cholesterol or comparable family history and an ankle-brachial index for smokers with aching lower legs while walking with diabetes or high cholesterol. Dr. Raymond Vath will be offer lifestyle counseling as well.

Appointments are not required.
