A woman accidentally drove her car through the secondary door and an adjacent front window of Inchin’s Bamboo Garden restaurant this morning. The restaurant is located at 16564 Cleveland St.

According to the restaurant owner (who requested anonymity) and Laura Gatens, who works in the same complex, the accident took place sometime around or before 9 a.m. when Gatens arrived for work.

The owner said no one was inside and the cook was outside the building when the accident occurred. There were no injuries, according to the owner and Gatens.

“The cook that was there this morning talked to us and said he saw her (the driver) pull into the parking spot this morning, then five minutes later she was in the building,” Gatens said.

Gatens said she and others overheard the driver, who said she was on her cell phone when the accident happened and thought she was in reverse.

The owner said there was also damage to a side wall at Bamboo Garden and a neighboring business’ wall, and to Bamboo’s floors and furniture. There’s a lot of broken glass on the premises, the owner said.

The restaurant is closed today.

“Thankfully, no one was inside and there were no injuries. Police, fire and Redmond building inspectors responded. The driver was not impaired and is coordinating with the restaurant owner,” said Becky Range, Redmond Police Department public information coordinator.
