Woman carjacked at knifepoint at Redmond Transit Center

An armed carjacking was reported around 9:20 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Redmond Transit Center in the 16100 block of Northeast 83rd Street.

The victim reported she was robbed of her vehicle at knifepoint by three suspects.

The suspect with the knife was described as a black male with a bald head, wearing dark clothes, a hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored jeans, according to a Redmond Police Department (RPD) press release.

The male suspect was reported to have been accompanied by two black females, one who had braided hair and was wearing a tight, long-sleeved white T-shirt and blue jeans.

According to the press release, the trio approached the victim in the Target parking lot and asked her for money. When the victim refused, the suspects asked for a ride to the transit center and the victim allowed them into her 2003 Kia Sorrento.

When they arrived at the center, the male suspect pulled a knife on the victim and told her to get out of the car, threatening to stab her. She left the car and was not injured.

The Kia Sorrento is a black car with a gray driver’s side door an and a gray passenger side quarter panel with a Washington state license plate number of ABY8043.

According to RPD public information officer Andrea Wolf-Buck, detectives are working with the Kent and Federal Way police departments to determine if a suspect in their area is the same man who carjacked the vehicle in Redmond.
