Saturday April 21
11 p.m. – Theft of Motor Vehicle: A vehicle stolen from a Redmond apartment complex on the 3900 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway was located a day later in Burien. The vehicle was returned to the owner but no suspects have been identified.
Friday April 20
10 a.m. – Vehicle Prowl: A vehicle was broken into overnight on the 17000 block of Northeast 105th St. and several pieces of personal information and other belongings were taken. There was no obvious signs of damage to the vehicle and the suspect is unknown.
Wednesday, April 18
7:12 a.m. – Vehicle Prowl: Police were called after an apparently intoxicated man refused to get out of a woman’s vehicle, near the corner of 180th Ave. Northeast and Northeast 70th St., stole the keys from the ignition, and ran off toward the nearby woods. The victim said she had been parked in her car near her apartment when the uninvited man jumped in the passenger seat and mumbled something like, “I’m ready to go now.” The suspect did not make any threats or attempt to harm the victim. The following morning the victim found her car had been rummaged through and her keys had been left under the vehicle.
12:15 p.m. – Robbery: Redmond officers canvassed the area around a local grocery store, on the 8900 block of 161st Ave. Northeast, searching for a shoplifting suspect that assaulted a store employee. Employees told police the suspect grabbed two bottles of liquor and left without paying. When confronted by an employee, the suspect punched her in the head. Officers set up a perimeter around the area and enlisted K9 to assist in the search but the suspect was not located. The victim was not seriously injured and declined medical attention.
Tuesday, April 17
7:45 a.m. – Multiple Vehicle Prowls: Several vehicles parked near each other on the 5000 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway were broken into and various items were stolen. Witnesses described the suspect as a white female, in her 40s, wearing a ball cap and carrying a large white purse. Officers searched the area but were unsuccessful in finding the suspect.
5:20 p.m. – Theft: An unknown suspect stole two packages from a front porch on the 4500 block of 159th Ave. Northeast.
Monday, April 16
12 p.m. – Fraud/ID Theft: A woman called police after she was swindled by someone online posing as a potential “sugardaddy.” The victim signed up for a dating app that finds older men looking to financially support younger women. Instead the victim was duped into sending the unknown suspect several hundred dollars worth of gift cards. Attempts at contacting the suspect were not fruitful and no identifying information about him was available.
3 p.m. – Theft: Several tools and electronics were stolen from a commercial building on the 10500 block of Willows Road after two doors were left open during a corporate party held at the location. One of the complainants guessed the doors had probably been open all weekend and there were several hundred people in the building for the party. There is no suspect information available.
