Young Women Empowered to hold Career Day later this month

On March 30, Young Women Empowered (Y-WE) in Redmond will host a Career Day in West Seattle for girls to learn about the possibilities of their futures.

On March 30, Young Women Empowered (Y-WE) in Redmond will host a Career Day in West Seattle for girls to learn about the possibilities of their futures.

Women from the varied fields of business, health andscience, nonprofit work and creative arts will be speaking about their lives and professions. The young woman attending will have the opportunity to speak with this group of women about their lives and opportunities. Some guests include Kalen Holmes (former head of human resources for Starbucks) and Jenny Harris (dietician for the WIC program at Swedish Medical Center).

Y-WE is a nonprofit organization that provides mentorship and empowerment programs for teen women. The organization serves a diverse group of girls from ages 12-18 and women mentors from ages 19-70 and older. The organization is open to young women from all walks of life. Each year they directly serve more than 200 youth and 150 adults and impact more than 1,500 community members.
