Youth skateboarding event scheduled for Saturday

The Old Fire House Teen Center is hosting the seventh annual RedSkate, a youth skateboarding competition that will take place Saturday, July 26 at Redmond’s Edge Skate Park.

The Old Fire House Teen Center is hosting the seventh annual RedSkate, a youth skateboarding competition that will take place Saturday, July 26 at Redmond’s Edge Skate Park.

The park is located at the corner of Northeast 83rd Street and 161st Avenue Northeast. This is a tradition that has been going on since 2001.

There will be four skateboarding divisions: Shop Sponsor, Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner. In addition, Skate Like a Girl (SLAG) will conduct a skate jam for women and girls only. Prize packs will be given away. This is a fun event with free music, and sno-cones.

Practice will begin at 9 a.m. with registration starting at 10 a.m. Competition for beginners will start at 11 a.m. and intermediate skaters at noon.

The SLAG Skate Jam begins at 1:15 p.m. and the advanced competition starts at 3:45. The Best Trick competition is at 5 p.m.

The entry fee is $5.
