Redmond-based mission-critical communications systems provider, Zetron, announced that its third annual “Shoot for the Stars” golf tournament, held Sept. 4 at The Golf Club in Newcastle, was its most successful to date.

More than 100 first responders and their guests attended the event and raised more than $16,000 for the Behind the Badge Foundation, an organization that serves Washington state’s injured and fallen law-enforcement officers and their families. This brings the amount Zetron has raised for Behind the Badge over the last three years to more than $41,000.

Tournament participants included law-enforcement and public-safety personnel from agencies throughout Washington state and representatives from Zetron and other public-safety equipment vendors. This year’s event also featured the participation of a host of local sports figures, including former Huskies and Seahawks, Michael Jackson and Nesby Glasgow; former Seahawks, Randall Morris and Alonzo Mitz; world-renowned mountaineering guide, Garrett Madison; and Jet City Rollergirl, Kira Brown. David Rose, Q13 FOX news anchor and host of Washington’s Most Wanted, served as master of ceremonies for the third year in a row.

The money raised by the event included donations from participants, corporate sponsorships, donations from Zetron employees and matching funds provided by Zetron and Zetron President and CEO Ellen O’Hara. Local businesses and Zetron employees also donated generous prizes for raffles held at the event.

“We are very proud that the ‘Shoot for the Stars’ tournament has become such a solid and successful tradition,” said O’Hara. “It’s very heartening to see our company join with our community, partners, public-safety customers and friends to support Behind the Badge and its important mission. We appreciate the dedication, participation and support of everyone who helped make this year’s event such a resounding success.”
