Clare Marie (Amo) Marr

10/26/24 – 02/22/10

Mom was born in Libby, Montana and moved to Redmond in 1927. Amo spent the rest of her life in Redmond where she stayed involved in the community. She was a member of the royal court for the first Redmond Bicycle Derby, a leader for the first Girl Scout troop in Redmond, a past member of the Happy Valley Grange, a long time member of the Redmond Historical Society and the Redmond Nokomis club, to highlight a few. Amo worked for many years as the bookkeeper at Lakeside Drug in Redmond and in keeping with her style, made many long time friends. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and up until her death, was still having weekly lunches with her “lunch bunch”, a group of friends from high school and beyond. We will miss her thoughtfulness in the countless little special things she would do for all occasions and in-between. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and son-in-law Rick Alexander. She is survived by daughters Margo Alexander of Bellevue, Lori Rowe (Dave) of Sammamish and “adopted” son Art Garverick of Auburn. Amo absolutely delighted in her grandchildren, Aimee Ruthford (Scott) of Sammamish, Krista Alexander of Seattle, Steve, Doug and Katie Rowe of Sammamish, Dean Rowe of White Bear Lake, MN, and Dale Rowe of Los Angeles, CA. A memorial will be held on Saturday, April 17, at noon at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 4330 148th Ave NE, Redmond, 98052. Donations may be made to the Redmond Aid Car Fund, 8450 161st Ave NE, Redmond, 98052.
