Craig A. Towner

Craig A. Towner, age 64, of El Dorado, Kansas.

Craig’s life began on August 20, 1951 in El Dorado, the son of Peggy Jean and Ferrel Starner. He was united in marriage to the former Cynthia Stone on June 16, 1990 in Fort Riley, Kansas.

Craig served his country for 20 years in the United States Army and became a helicopter maintenance expert. He served in operations from Vietnam to Desert Storm with distinction. After retirement from military life, Craig went to work for Lockheed-Martin using his skills as a civilian. He was an arrowhead hunter and collector, as well as a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Forty and Eight Club.

Craig is survived by his loving family including his wife Cynthia of El Dorado, son Chris of El Dorado, daughter Adrienne of El Dorado, five grandchildren, sister Taunya Alfaro of El Dorado, Jami Davisson of OK, and Shannon Riedel of Wichita. Craig passed away surrounded by family on August 14, 2016 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents Peggy and Ferrel.

His family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Veteran’s Administration Cemetery in Winfield.
