SCOTT DAVID KIMMEL

SCOTT DAVID KIMMEL

Scott David Kimmel, born June 7, 1961 went home to be with the Lord, April 3, 2018 after a year long battle with esophageal cancer.

Scott was raised in Burien, WA by Mel and Marilyn Kimmel. He graduated from Highline HS (1979) and WWU (1984) in Business. In 1986, he married Shirley Sharratt and they had two sons, Matthew and Blake Kimmel and lived in Redmond for 30 years.

Scott worked in the employee benefits industry for 30 years. He started Kimmel Benefits, operating for 11 years and finished his career at Conover Insurance.

Scott packed a rich life into his 56 years. He was a coach and umpire for Redmond Little League, a member of Overlake Christian Church. He loved cycling, running, fly fishing, hiking, and skiing. His favorite place was the cabin he built with his family by Leavenworth. He was known for his dry, quick-witted humor, generosity, and leadership.

We will miss him and always remember the love, joy and the great memories we made together. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, father Melvin, sons Matthew (wife Tricia) Kimmel, and Blake Kimmel. His brothers and their spouses, Butch and Reva, Todd and Heidi, Tim and Becky. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Kimmel.

Memorial service to be held 2pm, May 5th, at Faith Lutheran Church in Redmond. Donations in Scott’s name can be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to fund research on esophageal cancer.
