Lake Washington Technical College (LWTC) in Kirkland is hosting its 11th annual Employment and Education Fair from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, with a special opening session beginning at 9 a.m.

The Employment and Education Fair features employers and recruiters, job search strategies, résumé assistance, interview tips, educational opportunities and more.

“The Employment and Education Fair is a perfect place for job seekers and students to find valuable job search resources and potential employment opportunities,” said Herman Calzadillas, LWTC Director of Recruitment and Outreach. “In addition, the fair provides information from surrounding educational institutions and LWTC’s 38 programs of study.”

The opening session will feature an employer panel with experts who will share their knowledge and career/job search advice. The panel will be held in LWTC’s West Building fourth floor auditorium, W404, from 9-10 a.m.

As part of the fair, a workshop is being held to explore career opportunities in high-wage, high-skilled jobs in fields where women have traditionally feared to work. The workshop features a panel of successful professional women who have established themselves in “non-traditional” careers, including engineering, automotive, welding and science. The workshop will take place in LWTC’s East Building in room E157 from noon-1 p.m.

Employers attending the event include UPS, Evergreen Healthcare, Seattle Children’s Hospital, State Farm Insurance, the U.S. Census Bureau and Home Depot.
