Help support Smith on his journey to becoming a paramedic | Letter

I enjoyed reading the May 6 Redmond Reporter article about Redmond High School's own Drew Smith, his invitation to the national Congress of Future Medical Leaders and his goal of becoming a paramedic. We should all be comforted to know that quality local people like Drew have a desire to become our future, all-important first responders.

I enjoyed reading the May 6 Redmond Reporter article about Redmond High School’s own Drew Smith, his invitation to the national Congress of Future Medical Leaders and his goal of becoming a paramedic. We should all be comforted to know that quality local people like Drew have a desire to become our future, all-important first responders.

The article points out his journey to the Boston area is funded out of his own pocket and Drew has been working to save money for this trip. What a great opportunity for us all to help this deserving young man raise the funds for his attendance at this national event. Who knows, he could be one of the first responders rolling up in the future when our loved ones are in need.

Please join me in helping Drew reach his goal — it’s as simple as going to GoFundMe.com and type Drew Smith in the search bar, or the direct link is www.gofundme.com/y2hf265g.
