Voting for Goodman in November | Letter

I am writing to add my endorsement for Roger Goodman's re-election to the endorsements of NARAL, the Washington Housing Alliance, the Sierra Club, the Washington Conservation Voters, the Washington State Troopers Association, the Washington Fire Chiefs, the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs, the Lake Washington Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers. Only a person who disdains the hyper-partisanship now in vogue in our society could attract such diverse endorsements from across the political spectrum.

I support Roger because he has never succumbed to the all-too-typical demonizing of his opponents that marks many political races these days. Since his first election to the State House of Representatives, he has focused his efforts on doing everything he can to be an effective leader for his district. That is why he has the highest number of bills introduced and enacted into law than any other member of the WA State House!

Any individual who can gain the support and endorsement of Boeing and both the Boeing Machinists Union and the Boeing Engineers’ Union is someone I want representing me in the Legislature because it shows them to be a person that can focus on objectives and goals and not petty politics. Roger has proved that trait over and over during his years in the House – working with Democrats and Republicans to enact sensible, effective, fair taxpayer-focused solutions that improve our environment, our state economy, our education system, our justice system and the quality our lives.

Roger Goodman has consistently demonstrated that he delivers on his promises to the residents of the 45th Legislative District and as the Seattle Times endorsement editorial said about him “he deserves one more term to deliver on comprehensive education-finance reform.” Won’t you please join me and my family in voting for Roger and returning him to Olympia to continue his legacy of effectively representing our district? Thank you!
