University of South Carolina junior Alexa Anthony, an Overlake School graduate, had a perfect 2-for-2 day for the Gamecocks in their 15-5 season-opening equitation win over Kansas State University on Sept. 20.
Anthony, in the opening-day lineup for the first time in her college career, made the most of it, winning both of her events while earning her first career MVP.
Anthony kicked off her perfect afternoon in the jumping arena, where she knocked off her Kansas opponent, 76-75, in equitation over fences. She completed her 2-for-2 day in the second half of the meet as she posted an event-high 87 in equitation on the flat to defeat her Wildcat opponent by six points.
