Thomas Jefferson High School senior Sophia McDonald, track, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for May 20.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Sports exercise/health science.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Robotics, video games and swimming.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Coach Desimone for pole vault.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: “Not every day can be a good day athletically.”

Q: Describe your pre-meet ritual:

A: Talking and checking in with my teammates.

Q: What’s your favorite post-meet meal?

A: Sushi.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

From the sidelines: TJHS senior Sophia McDonald recently ran a personal best of 13.00 in the 100 meters at the Oregon Relays. She is currently the second ranked pole vaulter in the league and is ranked first in the 100 meters for the 3A NPSL.
