The Sea-Tac 2B Bear Creek School Grizzlies ran their season record to 11-0 and 21-1-1 overall with a 3-0 thrashing of Cross Point Academy on Tuesday night.

Game scores were 25-19, 25-9, 25-12.

For the Grizzlies, Bethan Meyer led with nine kills and five aces, followed by Makena Schoene with seven kills.

Nikki Peterson was effective as setter with 20 assists.

Last Saturday, the Grizzlies won their own volleyball tournament, the Bear Creek Invitational, not giving up a set the entire tournament in sweeps of Forest Ridge, Orcas Island, Seattle Christian and Shoreline Christian.

The Grizzlies will finish up their league season against Chief Leschi on Thursday night, at Chief Leschi, before beginning the District Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 5.

 

Owls stumble into postseason

The Overlake girls’ soccer team wrapped up its regular season on Tuesday, suffering a 2-0 shutout to University Prep at home.

The loss dropped Overlake to 11-3-0 (13-3-0 overall), with the Owls next playing in the Tri-District Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 1 against the winner of Cedar Park Christian and the District 1 runner-up, which is to be determined.
