Two-time Class 4A high school state breaststroke champion Heather Harper, who swam for Redmond High School and now swims for Boise State University, will compete in next week’s U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.

Harper, 18, qualified for the Trials for the first time in the 100-meter breaststroke back in March in the USA Swimming Sectionals at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way. She clocked a time of 1 minute, 12.14 seconds — just five-hundredths of second under the Trials qualifying time.

The Trials will be held June 25-July 2 at the CenturyLink Center. Harper will swim in the June 26 preliminaries of the 100 breaststroke with the finals in that event scheduled for June 27.

All of the preliminary races at the Trials will be webcast live at usaswimming.org June 25-July 1.
