Marymoor to host Tour de Cure fund-raiser for diabetes on May 11

On May 11, Marymoor Park near Redmond will be host to the 10th anniversary of the American Diabetes Association-Puget Sound's Tour de Cure event.

On May 11, Marymoor Park near Redmond will be host to the 10th anniversary of the American Diabetes Association-Puget Sound’s Tour de Cure event.

The goal of this year’s cycling event is to raise $500,000 and to inspire and support the courage of those who live with diabetes. So far, participants have raised more than $117,000.

Registration fee for Tour de Cure is $35 and the fund-raising minimum is $200.

Prizes are also available for the top three fund-raisers. First place is a pair of Alaska Airlines tickets to anywhere in the world. Second place is a Nintendo Wii U video game and entertainment console. Third place is a Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console. In addition, the top fund-raiser younger than 18 will also win a Nintendo Wii U entertainment console.

Participants can chose from five route distances: 15 miles 25 miles, 45 miles, 70 miles and 100 miles.
