In the most exciting game of the tournament, the Redmond boys’ basketball team went back to their hotel happy after beating Drake from San Anselmo, Calif. 56-54 yesterday evening at the Don Bambauer Holiday Classic.

With both teams struggling in the first half, particularly in the second quarter, Drake trailed 24-18 at the half and took the lead in the third quarter, before Redmond responded down the stretch with key plays.

Leslie Ellis led with a team-high 17, followed by Jason Harrington’s 16.

The win improved the boys to 6-3 overall on the season.

 

Inglemoor’s big finish buries Bear Creek boys at BC

The undefeated Bear Creek boys (8-0 heading into the game) suffered their first season loss to 4A Inglemoor last night, falling 62-42 in the Bellevue College Tournament semifinals. After a sluggish first quarter, the Viking boys amped up their defense and held Bear Creek to just six in the second quarter to take a 24-15 lead into halftime, and put the game away with a monster 24-point fourth quarter.

Collin Feight led the Grizzlies with 10 points, with Lucas Fernandez adding nine.

The Grizzlies conclude their BC tournament tonight in the consolation finals matchup against Nathan Hale at 6:30 p.m tonight.
