Mustangs’ Davis qualifies for state at league swim meet | Prep Report

Swimming in a 4A Kingco double-dual meet against Garfield and Bothell at Medgar Evars Pool in Seattle, the Mustangs fell to the Cougars, 104-78 and Garfield, 103-79. Redmond's Ally Davis won two individual events, the 200 freestyle in 2 minutes, 1.25 seconds, and also the 100 breast in 1:09.34, which qualified her for the 4A state meet in that event.

Redmond football routed by Woodinville

Playing a tough Woodinville Falcons team (3-0) on Friday night at Pop Keeney Stadium, the Mustangs were routed 55-7.

Redmond simply could not stop the Falcon’s rushers, as the opposition gained 225 yards on 25 plays on the ground to the Mustangs’ 38 total rushing yards, while senior quarterback Brett Arrivey had a night, going 12-for-14 for 223 yards.

Offensively, Nikolaj LaCour led all receivers with 77 yards on eight receptions.

With the loss, the Mustangs dropped to 0-3 and take on No. 2-ranked Eastlake this Friday at home at 7 p.m.

 

Owls blank Bellevue Christian

The goals came early and often at home for the Overlake girls soccer team against Bellevue Christian, as the Owls shut out the Vikings 7-0 in a 1A Emerald City League matchup.

Forward Adrianna Gildner opened the floodgates in the second minute with a score off Jenay Brown’s assist, and Brown herself scored twice in the eighth and 37th minutes.

Tess Edenholm scored twice in the first half, Gildner scored again in the second half and Zoe Pinczower put one in just before time expired.

Senior Kerri Smith earned a hat trick of assists in the game as the Owls improved to 3-0-0 in league play and 4-0 overall.
